Kindred Senior Advisor

Frequently Asked Question

ABOUT OUR SERVICE

Yes. There is never a cost to your family for working with Kindred Senior Advisors. The senior living community your loved one chooses compensates us after they move in, similar to how a real estate agent is paid after a home closes. Our recommendations are never based on that compensation. They are based entirely on what is right for your loved one.

Senior living communities pay us a referral fee after your loved one moves in. Communities are not allowed to charge families more for using a senior advisor, so there is no catch and no hidden cost to you.

National agencies manage hundreds of markets from a call center and often prioritize volume over fit. We are locally based in North Atlanta. You work directly with us from the first call to move-in day. We know the communities personally, we tour them with you, and we are invested in finding the right fit, not just the fastest one.

Our goal is to personally accompany every family on every tour. We will always do our best to make our schedules align. We know what to look for, which questions to ask, and how to evaluate what you are seeing so you can compare your options with confidence.

ABOUT THE PROCESS

You will hear from us within 24 hours on weekdays or within 24 to 48 hours on weekends. That first call is a short 10 to 15 minute conversation to understand your situation and get the right next steps in place. No paperwork, no pressure, no commitment.

It depends entirely on your family’s timeline. Some families are planning months or even years ahead. Others need placement within days due to a hospitalization or sudden change in health. We work at your pace, whatever that looks like for your situation.

There are a few. If your family has already been working with another placement advisor or national agency, we are typically not able to step in, as that advisor would already be owed the community referral on your behalf. We also do not place individuals who need skilled nursing, nursing home, or rehab care. We come into the picture when someone is ready to transition from rehab or home into assisted living, memory care, or a personal care home.

ABOUT SENIOR LIVING OPTIONS

We help families navigate Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Personal Care Homes, and Respite Care across the North Atlanta metro area, including Marietta, East Cobb, Roswell, Kennesaw, Acworth, Canton, Woodstock, Alpharetta, Smyrna, and Sandy Springs.

Assisted living provides support with daily tasks like meals, medication, and mobility while allowing residents to maintain independence. Memory care is a more specialized, secure environment specifically designed for individuals with Alzheimer’s or dementia, with trained staff and programming built around memory loss. Some communities offer both, but not all assisted living facilities have a dedicated memory care wing.

A personal care home is a smaller, residential-style home that provides individualized care for a small number of residents, typically six to ten people. They offer a more intimate, home-like setting than a larger facility and are often a great fit for loved ones who feel overwhelmed in bigger communities. They can also be a more affordable option for some families.

FOR CAREGIVING FAMILIES

We understand that not every family has the luxury of time. If your loved one has just been discharged from a hospital or rehabilitation facility, or if their needs have changed suddenly, call us directly at 770-778-2432. We will prioritize your situation and help you find the right placement as quickly as possible.

No. We work with a wide network of communities across North Atlanta and our recommendations are based solely on fit, not on which communities have the highest referral fees. We are only compensated if your loved one moves into a community we recommended, which means our entire incentive is to find the right place for your family.
